Fun Filled Fair

Everything in room 29 was crossed, hoping that there would be good weather for the Balmoral Big Day Out.

Well anyone who has ever been in Auckland knows that it is truly the city of four seasons in one day. Throughout the morning the clouds came and went, with intermittent blasts of glorious sunshine. The clouds may have threatened rain, but luckily they were only teasing. The rain stayed away.

1400 hrs the field was dotted with marques, trailers, horses, and helpers. But by 1445 the helpers had been joined by prospective buyers and revellers. 1500, the Balmoral Big Day Out (BBDO) was in full swing.

A circuit of the field would take you on a journey through preserves, sporting activities, bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle course, second hand books, second hand toys, second hand sporting goods, raffles, lots of bottles, smash palace, dunk the teacher, cakes galore, Gravity coffee cart, face painting, food and drinks, Graham Brazier performing - not to mention other great bands, children from Balmoral School taking part in Balmoral's Got Talent, Balmoral culture group, and finally back to whanau Hiringa's product tent.

We were thrilled to have sold out of our Ultraviolet Ultra-fun, glow in the dark shoelaces, within a couple of hours. Thanks to Smiths Sports Shoes, The Number One Shoe Warehouse, and Guthrie Bowron - Balmoral, for shoelaces and glow in the dark paint.

A big THANKS to all the people on the PTA, who did an amazing job in organising this event, all the parents, students, teachers and friends of the Balmoral school community who donated time and goods.

WHAT WAS YOUR HIGHLIGHT OF THE BBDO?
